Beryl's Story To Be Told.

Beryl Parties - Legs akimbo and gifted with a colour that can't be ignored, this gal knows how to have a good time. Her mother wishes she wouldn't go out with her hair like that and hopes it's a phase she's going through. But Beryl knows there's no time to waste on such thoughts....you're only pink once!
                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Sue Ninham, 2012.

Beryl was born in 2012 at the time when my head was full of Monsters and the Fringe was raging.  My critters were centre stage as part of the design for the winning poster, but it was Beryl who proved to be the real crowd pleaser. She is my favourite and I have wanted to write a children's book featuring her since then. I knew that I would need assistance to get my thoughts and words together into something cohesive, so a few months ago I approached acclaimed Children's book author and publisher, Penny Matthews, with the idea of mentoring me around the writing and structure of the book. She agreed and then I applied for funding from Arts SA, to assist me in paying Penny for her time and expertise. Last week I was notified that my application was successful! I am so excited! So now it begins. It will be a mad, romping story, that's for sure. So, to all you Beryl enthusiasts and those who definately will be when they get to know her, STAY TUNED!!!!!!!!
